a55 firmware update with 720p/60fps

Is there any information if there will be an update of the firmware so it will be possible to film with 60fps with the a55? I saw that this was up for discussion last year, but I have not seen any information about this lately?

    Hello ulno7633 - Welcome to the Sony Forums

     

    As far as I am aware, this is not something that would usually be possible with a firmware update as the technology involved would have to be physically changed in order to record in the alternative video format. Having said this, if a method of doing so was devised in the future it would be a welcome development

    The A55 firmware upgrade is called the A57.
