hello I have vaio vcpeb3joe Windows 7

About 7-8 months ago my left clicker stopped working i put up with it but now my right clicker is not working i have had this laptop for about 2 years. I have tried uninstalling the Alps pointing device and reinstalling it but with no luck. Sometimes if  i switch my computer off and take the battery out & charger plug and press on my On button for 10 seconds this will sometimes make it work but will eventually stop again. This also used to work with the left clicker but now even pressing the On button wont work on the left.

Any one know what this possibly could be? Any help please!

OK quick  update now my left click has started working have to press it multiple  times for it to work though

    Hi Jenny and welcome.

This is 99% a hardware problem that will require a repair.  The button contacts aren't working properly or there is a poor connection and there is no user fix.

It sounds like every now and then, when you shake the Vaio taking the battery out, contact is made which results in the buttons working for a while.

Your Vaio will now be out of the warranty period so you can shop around for a repair.

    Hi.

How long will it take for Sony to get my unit back whenever I send it to them for repair?
