vaio care vaio update problem?

Hi,

I am a new one in the community with my new vaio vpcf2 and i would like to ask how do i start vaio update, because every time i try, it tells me that there is an update for vaio care that i have to do first.So I am doing this update for vaio care and then I am trying to start vaio update again and it tells me the same thing(that i have to update vaio care first)...ect.(lots of times). Is it the same thing or i am doing something wrong?

    The link doesn't work and being over a year old has no relevance to the question.    

     

    Hi AHIPAP, 

     

    Can you please let us know your exact model number as some of the vpcf2 series have an update that may resolve the issue. If there is an update available it will be on the Sony Europe site but may require deleting and then reinstalling the original utility and then reinstalling followed by installing the update.  If there is no update available for your model we can raise the problem with Support.

    I have the same problem too I have a VPCEC3SOE Windows 7 laptop, and it keeps asking me to update but doesn't???

    I have the same problem with Vaio SVE1511D1EW. Vaio Care does not update even if a new update is apparently exist?! At the end it says: "waiting for windows configures Vaio". Vaio Update tels you to update your Vaio Care, which it refuses to do! What should I do?

    I had this problem. In the end, I tried to download the latest vaio care 8.1 direct by downloading from sony site;

    But it kepy hanging up. !


    So I installed an excellent utility called 'free download manager' (freedownloadmanager.org), and guess what...it downloaded it all! So I now have the lates version of vaio care but its made no difference. Vaio update still refuses to run unless I install the latest version. Its been trying to update itself about 3 days now.


    Have to say the sony vaio s/ware seems very buggy. Had to do the same workaround to get the vaio manual to work. Not great Sony, must do better!


    And where's the start button in Win8? What crap!

    Hello everybody,

     

    I finally managed to solve the issue.

     

    I have been trying to fix this for over a week now. It seems the EU server is not responding or something has gone wrong with the SONY EU ftp server and we cant download anything from the EU website. Follow the steps and you should be able to fix this really anoying issue. I dont know whos responsible for this but SONY should be better than this. Its been a while and theres no fix yet. I am not even sure they know about the issue... anyway... a bit dissapointing but... it happens.

     

    Here is what you need to do:

    1. Turn off any Internet connections

    2. Start Vaio Update. You will get an error message saying that there is no Internet connection available so dismiss it

    3. Now Vaio Update will open

    4. Click on "Check for Updates" button on the top. Dismiss again the same message

    5. Now click on the small clock button on top right (Installation History). It will bring up a screen with all updates attempts.

    6. In the list you will see (presumably) your error: something with an error code, etc.

    7. What is important is to click on the link provided under the Program tab. It will open the link from which you can get the version needed.

     

    Good luck! Let me know if it worked for you as well.

    Hello Apostolov,

    I followed your tips for solutuion od the problem and I manage to get this error code (0xA0010001) and then started the internet again and followed the link under program tab but unfourtenally this link "didn´t answer". I am also as everybody else seems to bee rather tired of this ftp.vaio-link.com.

    That download link given by Peter T worked for me, Vaio Care now at 8.1.0.101.20
