Can you use VCT-D580RM remote control tripod with CX-570?

Hi, remote control tripod has a 2.5mm jack out and CX-570 has 3.5mm input. Will it work with a stereo 2.5F to 3.5M, any advice would be appreciated!

    It should work, but I'd want to try it before I buy

     

    Being a discontinued model, it might be difficult to test the tripod in a camera store, but that's what I'd recommend.

     

    Maybe another forum visitor has some experience of it
