The Best Camera I ever owned

I am an ex-professional photographer and have owned many cameras over the years. One month ago I changed from my usual brand to Sony and purchased the a7R II - Wow! What a camera. With 42 mps and Auto ISO that copes with all lighting the results are stunning. I visited a stately home where no flash was allowed and the photos I took are amazing. All details were captured and no noise problems are apparent. I have heard that there may be a problem with overheating on the video capture but I am a stills photographer and this does not concern me. I you want perfect video then maybe choose a dedicate video camera. The a7RII is the best camera available for stills and I have no regrets in converting to Sony.

Niente da dire su sensore (fantastico), corpo (compatto e robusto), e qualità dell'immagine in generale (ai massimi livelli). Il tiraggio minimo consente l'uso di qualsiasi ottica vintage o moderna, aprendo alla creatività. Quello che è importante sapere per chi sta pensando di comprare una Sony A7R2 è (forse) una banalità: non è una reflex. Non è pronta: il ritardo del mirino/display è relativo, ma è tutto il resto che fatica a rispondere agli stimoli. Da quando si accende a quando è pronta per scattare passa qualche secondo (fattore non trascurabile dato che per non consumare batterie è bene tenerla spenta o in standby il più possibile). Non è veloce: l'autofocus non è molto sensibile, con poca luce (a dispetto delle grandi prestazioni delle immagini ad alti iso) ben che vada richiede qualche secondo per agganciare un soggetto fermo. Se il soggetto si muove è un'impresa agganciarlo. Non è logica: con ottiche originali Sony con innesto E una volta agganciato il soggetto, non è possibile fare piccole correzioni riattivando l'AF se il soggetto si è mosso leggermente: l'algoritmo riparte da zero con una spazzolata molto ampia della messa a fuoco che porta a perdite di tempo (e scatti buoni). Un po' meglio va (per assurdo) con le ottiche non originali adattate: quando la A7R2 usa i soli sensori di fase perde ancora un po' con scarsa luce, ma è molto più logica nell'algoritmo, e segue il soggetto anche con piccole correzioni proprio come le reflex. Non è intuitiva: il menù è una giungla, non ha un ordinamento per argomenti intuitivo. I pulsanti sono completamente programmabili.. troppo: alla fine è preferibile avere un'assegnazione ottimizzata in fabbrica ed efficiente piuttosto che avere pulsanti sparsi in posizioni non logiche con le funzioni che possono essergli assegnate. Non sempre capisce quello che voglio fare: per sopperire alle non ottime prestazioni del sistema AF è necessario usare tutti gli automatismi possibili (quindi AF-C e inseguimento del soggetto, e quando possibile riconoscimento visi). Non sempre però l'automatismo capisce cosa si vuol fare, ed aggancia soggetti sbagliati. In definitiva è una fotocamera fantastica se la si usa con soggetti statici, o situazioni in cui non è necessaria un'estrema precisione nella messa a fuoco. Non è una fotocamera per cogliere l'attimo con ottiche superluminose.. non si arriva quasi mai in tempo.

A7r2 - still great!

Although this camera body is going on 11years old, I bought it used in 2026 as a backup to my A7r5 and it still performs well. The 42mp sensor still produces a fine image with lots of detail and dynamic range.

Ottimo corpo macchina full frame dall'alta qualità costruttiva, lo si nota subito al tatto grazie alla scelta dei materiali e delle rifiniture dando un ottimo feedback a chi la utilizza. L'elevata risoluzione permette stampe dettagliate dei propri scatti, e grazie agli alti iso si ottengono foto nitide anche con scarsa luce ed ottiche poco luminose. Il display orientabile permette di scattare con comodità in ogni condizione e le ghiere ed i pulsanti customizzabili fanno il resto per avere tutto cio che serve a portata di mano. Gli infrarossi presenti su questo corpo macchina permettono l'utilizzo di telecomandi senza fili o anche smartphone con IRda. Macchina consigliata sia per amatori che per chi ha pretese maggiori e vuole ottenere comunque il meglio dai propri lavori. Prodotto consigliato per chi si approccia da poco o come hobbista alla fotografia, sia per chi ci lavora in ambito professionale.

Ostin ensimmäisen A7RMll vuonna 2016 se oli mahtavin runko mitä minulla on täyden kennokoon kameroissa ollut . Minun ensimmäinen peilitön runko. Nyt vuosia myöhemmin hankin toisen tämä on vaan niin upea runko. Liekki rakkautta ensi silmäyksellä niin oli pakko palata tähän.

Ho acquistato questo prodotto di seconda mano dal mio rivenditore di fiducia: ma dopo appena 49.000 scatti, l'otturatore si è bloccato. Un fotoriparatore autorizzato mi chiede 350 euro per la sostituzione dell'otturatore. Eppure leggo che Sony garantisce questo tipo di otturatori per almeno 500.000 scatti. al 10% di utilizzo, l'otturatore mi ha piantato in asso. mi aspetto che sony mi ripari l'otturatore senza pagare.

Ottima macchina, soprattutto il sensore cmos retroilluminato che permette la registrazione di immagini superbe anche ad alte sensibilità. Un piccolo difetto è la non eccellente durata della batteria.

Außer der Akkulaufzeit und dem fehlenden Fotostacking für Makroaufnahmen bin ich mit dem etwas älteren Modell sehr zufrieden. Habe gleich mehrere davon, die wegen der Bildstabilisierung deutlich komfortabler ist als die erste Version. Ich benutze die Kamera gern mit alten guten Konstruktionen von Minolta, Zeiss, Olympus, Leica, … und dafür reichts völlig.

In Ergänzung zu meiner Sony RX 10 IV wollte ich einmal Vollformat probieren. Ich habe die 7R II relativ günstig gebraucht geschossen, sogar mit Garantie. Dazu dann noch ein gebrauchtes Makroobjektiv von Tamron erworben. Und ein paar alte Minolta-Objektive. Funktioniert alles fein dank des Sensor-Stabilisators. Klasse ist die Möglichkeit, die Kamera auf APSC-Objektive umzustellen. So kann ich unsere Ferienvermietungen sehr gut mit einem Samyang 12mm ablichten. Die Bildqualität der 7R II überzeugt mich sehr. Ich bin sehr zufrieden!

Superbe qualité des fichiers JPEG

J'ai acheté ce boitier il y a deux mois. Les premiers tests confirment un traitement des fichiers JPEG (X-Fine) excellent. D'autre part, la fiabilité de l'exposition et la résolution du capteur permet d'obtenir des images d'excellente qualité en Jpeg. Il n'est plus nécessaire de travailler longuement sur les fichiers raw pour obtenir de tels résultats.

Ho ancora difficoltà ad usarla (provengo da Nikon e non mi trovo con software e comandi). La qualità dei file è impressionante. Un po' complicato l'abbinamento con smartphone e computer. Leggerissima e maneggevole.

Eine sehr schöne Kamera und in meinem Fall die Backup Kamera für meine 7rIIIa. Hat BSI und arbeitet schnell, zuverlässig und ordentlich. Ich finde das Design genial. Der Akku ist der Große Schmerz aber OK dafür gibt es ja einen Hoch Format Griff und Ersatzakkus. Alles in allem eine geniale Kamera mit einer sehr guten Auflösung.

Ho acquistato questa mirrorless circa un mese fa. per ora sono soddisfatta anche se la durata delle batterie è veramente breve (nonostante io abbia eliminato l'automatismo finder monitor ed abbia impostato finder)

Very sturdy nice and simple camera to use

I bought this as a second camera and in its day it would have warranted five star rating, but seven years on it shows its age. Still, images are detailed and pleasant, but the sensor shows its age. It lacks brilliance and modern look of the images taken with the latest sensors in 2022. Menu is adequate, but not as well thought as on the most recent models. Focusing is excellent, but controls are not as responsive as are the controls of the most recent cameras.

Ich fotografiere nunmehr seit fast 60 Jahren und haben mit Geräten anderer Hersteller Erfahrungen sammeln klönnen. Letztendlich bin ich seit Jahren bei SONY -Digitalkameras "gelandet" und habe das zu keinem Zeitpunkt bereut. Die Kamera wurde vor Allem wegen der hohen Auflösung gekauft. Aber auch weil Geräte von SONY über Jahre eine sehr gute Haltbarkeit und Zuverlässigkeit bewiesen haben. Nun halte ich ein neues "Meisterklasse-Gerät" der Fotogafie von SONY in den Händen! Solide Verarbeitet, shr handlich und für den harten Praxiseinsatz absolut geeignet. Die Übersichtliche Anordnung der Bedien- und Einstellräder sowie -tasten sind für den Gebrauch optimal. Aber vor Allem ist die Auflösung, bis hin zum Rand von Aufnahmen ohne Abstriche und jeden Makel und besonders hervorzuheben. Die Möglichkeit sich weitere APPS für Aufnahmesituationen auf die Kamera zu laden -von der SONY-Seite- runden die Anwendsvielfältigkeit ab. Das ist bei SONY einzigartig und selbst für ambitionierte Fotogafen einmalig! Damit kann sich in kritischen / schnellen Aufnahmesituationen der Fotograf voll auf das Motiv konzentrieren, ohne sich um einstellungstechnischen Ballast kümmern zu müssen. Die große Palette an Objektiven und Zubehör runden das Konzept ab. Sony hat sich zu Recht im Bereich der professionellen Fotowelt einen besonders einzigartigen Platz erworben. Ich bin sicher, dass diese KAmera mein ständiger Begleiter wird, wie auch schon in den letzten Tagen.

Seit 1975 bin ich begeisterter Fotograf. Reise-, Architektur- und Macro-Fotographie sind meine Schwerpunkte. Neben einer APS-C Kamera besitze ich eine (betagte) A 900 mit etlichen Objektiven. Diese soll in Zukunft durch die A7R2 ersetzt werden. Allerdings braucht es Geöhnung, sich von einer Spiegelreflex- auf eine Spiegellose Kamera umzustellen, was mir bisher noch nicht ganz gelungen ist. In Kurzfassung + und - : + irre hohe Auflösung, sehr gute Vergrößerungsergebnisse und Detail-Freistellung + leicht und handlich, ca. 500 g gegenüber A 900 gespart, sehr gut für Reisen + Bedienelemente da, wo sie hingehören, allerdings: - einige fummelig zu bedienen: vorderes Einstellrad, z.T. F-Taste(n) + neigbarer Monitor, sehr gute Auflösung - Augenmuschel dichtet nicht gut gegen seitlichen Lichteinfall ab + durch fehlenden Spiegel Sensor gut zu reinigen - man muss die Kamera jedes Mal einschalten, wenn man durch den Sucher blicken will, extrem lästig für schnelle Schnappschüsse (Plus der SLR) - Akku hält max. 2 Stunden durch oder man schaltet ständig ein und aus - Seitenwulst etwas klein, auch für kleine Hände Vieles vom o.g. soll wohl zur Mark IV verbessert worden sein. Aber der Preis dafür ... Mal sehen, wie die sich Kamera nach 1 Jahr bewährt hat - wäre nett, wenn Sony dann noch mal nachfragen würde!

Ein Umstieg der sich gelohnt hat

Meinen Umstieg von Nikon D750 auf Sony habe ich bisher nicht bereut. Der wichtigste Vorteil für mich liegt ganz klar im Bereich der lichtarmen Fotosituationen. Schon bei meinen ersten Bildern bin ich einfach nur begeistert, bei wie wenig Licht die Sony noch tolle Bilder machen kann. Des Weiteren bin ich fasziniert, mit welchen ISO Werten ich noch gute Bilder mache. Das ist für mich die wohl erfolgreichste Neuerung. Natürlich musste ich mich an die ungewohnte Balance der Kamera gewöhnen. Durch das Fehlen des Spiegels ist sie nicht nur leichter geworden, sondern für mich im ersten Moment doch sehr Kopf(Objektiv)lastig. An diese Änderung gewöhnt man sich allerdings sehr schnell. Sehr begeistert bin ich ebenfalls von den schnellen und präzisen Autofokus. gerade bei der People Fotografie kommt es doch schon oftmals auf einen schnellen Autofokus an. Auch wenn meine Entscheidung, nach über 10 Jahren Nikon, doch noch sehr lange gedauert hat einen kompletten System- und Markenwechsel zu vollziehen, so bin ich jetzt doch umso begeisterter darüber und auch überzeugt davon die nächsten Jahre mit dieser Marke zu arbeiten

ik gebruik de Sony nu ruim 2 jaar en vind de menu's nog steeds slecht te gebruiken. Snel werken wordt een grote uitdaging en instellingen veranderen kun je m.i. niet snel doorvoeren op het niveau waar de camera bedoeld is. Foto's zijn mooi maar diverse updates nodig om ook deze wat oudere camera waar ik veel geld in geinvesteerd heb, up to date te houden. Dit is mijn eerste en laatste Sony camera.

Superlative IQ with the right lenses.

This camera has a fantastic richly detailed sensor, and with an uncompressed RAW mode, astounding levels of colour detail. The only caveat is, that you need the best lenses to get the most out of it. I'm using the 28mm f2 FE and 85mm f1.8 FE and both get close to making the best of the sensor, with perceptual megapixel ratings in the high 30 MPs. I use a grip with my camera as the battery life isn't fantastic, so two batterys give me that extra peace of mind, and helps my handling of the camera in portrait. Although a generation or two older now, this camera has all the performance I need, the AF (with Sony FE lenses) is fast and accurate, and my adapted canon lenses via a metabones adaptor work pretty well also, although I plan to buy sony equivalents in time. The video quality is great, but best to shoot in 4K mode, and if you want the ultimate quality, APS-C crop mode, for the least possible noise at higher isos (although noise is low up to 1600, tolerable up to 6400) A real bargain at current prices. You would need to spend 4x as much to get anything markedly better.

Da utilizzatore (non professionista) Sony da circa 15 anni e diversi corpi macchina quali a550, a77, a77 II, a7, a7s, a7 III, nex6, a6500, a6400, posso dire che che questa a7r II è la miglior fotocamera che abbia mai posseduto. Se si tiene conto esclusivamente delle performance in termini di autofocus, velocità operativa e tecnologia (probabilmente) non regge il confronto con le Alpha più recenti, ma se la si considera una fotocamera (e non semplicemente un apparecchio elettronico) non esiste nulla di simile allo stesso prezzo. I punti deboli che spesso leggo nei vari forum di fotografia, come ad esempio le prestazioni dell'autofocus, la velocità operativa, la durata della batteria, la qualità del mirino e del display posteriore, sono tali solo se confrontati con fotocamere che, a parità di qualità d'immagine, sono molto più costose. Nella realtà l'autofocus è alla pari se non superiore alla maggior parte delle fotocamere in commercio nella stessa fascia di prezzo; lo stesso dicasi di mirino e durata delle batterie. Se si è maggiormente interessati alla qualità fotografica che alla quantità tecnologica, questa a7r II può essere una tra le scelte migliori che un fotografo amatoriale possa fare.

J'ai acheté l'Alpha 7R II en mars 2021 et j'en suis très satisfait, il correspond bien à mes attentes au niveau de la qualité d'image, l'autofocus est un peu moins véloce que l'Alpha 7R III d'après ce que j'ai pu lire mais cela ne me gêne nullement.

Ho comprato quest'articolo usato mesi fa, dotato di batterie e grip così ho ampia autonomia e grippabilità. L'ho corredata con il trio di zoom Tamron e mi trovo un corredo completo, con possibilità di scattare ottime, dettagliatissime foto, quanto belle non dipende dalla macchina ma da me.

Die ILCE-7RM2 ist aus meiner Sicht eine sehr gute und vielseitige Hochleistungskamera mit einigen kleinen Schwachstellen, die zum Teil in Nachfolgemodellen aber behoben wurden. Probleme: 1. der Stromverbrauch, man sollte immer ausreichend Akkus debei haben. 2. der z.T. inkompatible Autofokus zu älteren A-mount Objektiven mit mech. Stangenantrieb, über den LA-EA5 Adapter (mit LA-EA 4 Adapter funktioniert das aber meistens) 3.Die meiner Meinung nach etwas unübersichtliche Menüführung. Dinge die zusammen gehören sollten auch im gleichen Bereich einzustellen sein. Ob es ein Update geben wird, das die genannten Probleme berücksichtigt ist, bisher nicht bekannt. 4. Der Auslöser ist etwas weich und der Druckpunkt ist kaum fühlbar für die Fokussierung Alles in allem aber eine gelungene Kamera, klein und handlich. Ein Sony Problem bleibt aber, die zu schnelle Einführung von Nachfolgemodellen wie die ILCE-7RM2 dann die ILCE-7RM3, ILCE-7RM4 usw.

J'ai acheté cet article il y a presque un an pour un usage exclusivement photo. La montée en ISO et la dynamique sont exemplaires mais c'est au prix d'une déviance colorimétrique très prononcée, il est nécessaire de travailler en RAW pour corriger ce défaut. L'autonomie est le second point noir ; à peine 200 photos pour une batterie. En dehors de ça, l'ergonomie, le parc optique et le rapport qualité-prix sont irréprochables.

Always been a Nikon camera user but in advice from LCE Derby team I swapped and never looked back . I also bought the 200-600 , what a stunning lens , then I bought the 70-200f4 , again spot on. Also just today purchased the 24-105 , this replaces a Tamron I had , what a difference superb products sold by the best camera shop I know

Had this camera for six months moving from Canon find the image quality excellent with the right lenses, hear lots of negative comments about the menu system but have found it fine just something new to learn and how often are you in the menu system anyway there are many advantages to the greater resolution if you print or sell large prints

Camera and image quality is great. The phone app to transfer images and remote control the camera is terrible. Customisation of the camera through the menu is too laborious for nowadays standards, the menu and feature descriptions are hardly self-explanatory.

Vor einem Jahr gekauft, meine absolute Traumkamera! Unfassbare Auflösung. Unglaublich scharfzeichnende und reflexarme Objektive! Ich entdecke jetzt erst wie gut auch meine alten SLR Optiken sind, seit ich sie mit dieser Kamera mit internem Bildstabilisator verwende.

Die Sony @7R2 setze ich für Landschaftsfotografie ein. Ziel sind Publikationen im Bereich Bildband, Kalender, Reiseführer. Um es vorweg zu nehmen: die Bildqualität, die diese Kamera zu liefern in der Lage ist, darf als exzellent bezeichnet werden. Insbesondere im Zusammenspiel mit geeigneten Optiken, ist die 7R2 ein durchgängig professionelles Arbeitsgerät.

More than enough

I have used all major makes and shot on all formats. But I chose Sony and this model as I wanted a mirrorless camera with a large choice of lenses, including 3rd party, and price was a factor. I shoot landscape, seascape, astro and long exposure. I would love to see a timer for bulb mode. Great dynamic range, huge pixel count and good colour rendition. Very happy with my choice within my budget constraints.

Ho comprato questa macchina fotografica 2 mesi fa per il mio viaggio in Norvegia, mi sono trovato molto bene, ha molte funzionalità, per ritratti e paesaggi si presta molto bene, un po' meno nella.fotografia sportiva, la raffica è lenta e anche la scrittura nonostante uso SD ad alta velocità di scrittura, anche la messa a fuoco a volte fa degli scherzi, sotto questo punto di vista mi sarei aspettato di più ma nel complesso è un'ottima macchina che consiglio a chi vuole fare uno step successivo rispetto a macchine fotografiche entry-level senza spendere cifre sopra i 2000 euro

Die Installation der Soundbar war einfach und unkompliziert, lediglich die Verbindung drahtlos zu den rear Lautsprechern hat etwas gehakt. mit Hilfe des Supports konnte das aber schnell geklärt werden. Im Moment schalten sich die Rear Lautsprecher aus und koppeln nuicht direkt beim Einschalten der Soundbar ;-))
